    Whoopie sling extender

I was going to make a whoopie extenders, or at least that's what I'm calling them. It's a length of amsteel with locked brummel fixed eye's on each end for the times when the width between the trees is a little far or for any other use that may come up.

Do you guys have these? What is a good length?

I made a few. Around 6 foot long finished. I can fold them in half for a 3 foot length.

I did mine in 4' sections, with a 3" locked brummel loop on each end.

I carry a few 12" (finished size) continuous loops and a couple of 18" for this purpose, though the only time I've ever used them is in my backyard. You can larkshead a continuous loop to the fixed end of the whoopie. If it ain't long enough, add another. Easy peezy.

I always carry a 4' piece of Amsteel with fixed eye on each end. I don't use it often, but I have had to use it and it saved the day!

I carry a couple of 5 foot lengths I made from spare/remnant amsteel. To be creative, instead of making locked brummels on the ends as I've done on the past, I made them with loops that can be opened and closed in the same manner as soft shackles.

I spliced a 12 inch piece into each end (I had the two 12 inch pieces laying around) with a 4 inch bury and locked brummel. Then I spliced one length into the other about a quarter inch from the brummel creating a small opening that can be opened further and can be closed. Next I made a diamond knot out of the two free ends. To make a close loop I just put the diamond knot through that quarter inch opening I made. I didn't need to make the loops with the ability to open but its convenient at times.

That's the same length I make them.

Shorter ones frequently get used as a pack leash as well. I usually have a couple of lengths along.
