Tarp skins & ridgelines?

With a continual ridgeline on your tarp and using tarp skins, do you leave the ridgeline attached to the tarp and bundled up in the skins?

I leave my tarp permanently attached and slide my snakeskins over the whole thing. I bundle up nearly my two ends of the ridgeline and tuck the two bundles into the ends of the snakeskin.

If tarp skins are "snake skins". Two sloping mesh tubes, then, yes, I do. Leaving the attachment points and hardware ( dutch hooks/flyz) left out the ends. My Snake skins have pockets at the end for these. I whip up the excess cordage and the tuck it in the pockets. No pockets? Then Im sure you could try a couple different ways to secure the excess cordage suitable for your packing style. Then your ready to hang when you get to the next spot. I also do this with a two piece ridgeline. (Hope I grasped your question.)

Yes, it's all bundled together. My skins have pockets on each end where my extra length of cord goes into and my stake bag so it's always together. Pull cord out, tie off the ends to the trees (now you have one long tube hanging off your trees), pull out your stake bag, and then slide the skin down. It's like magic every time

No tarp ridgeline here, but I leave the cordage attached to the ends of the tarp, and skin it up with HH snakeskins. When the tarp comes down, I leave the cordage and Fig 9s on the outside of the skins, then just bundle the skins back and forth into a tube about 18"long. I wrap it up with the cordage to keep it in place...voila, done!

I have DIY mesh snake skins and bundle it all together and carry it in an outside pocket for easy tarp set up in the rain if necessary and have the luxury of cover before I open my pack and expose contents to the rain.

Side note to my previous post. I also no longer use two part snake skins. I use one long python skin. It just works better for me and I don't have any bunching in the middle.
