One thing that wasn't addressed was that your strap angles will make a big difference in how much leg pressure you get with the WBBBs. I found that strung tighter than 30* I got a lot of calf pressure.

What worked in a pinch was to put something, like a pillow or coat under my knees, which really reduced the pressure.

11' and over hammocks, do make you suspend higher on the supports. The length addition of straps and whoopies can also eliminate some very nice 15' hangs, but with a little hardware, you can switch the whoopies out and just use the straps, at will, so the key might be flexibility. See dejohna's illustrations or get the entire book!

IMHO the lay of the longer 11' hammock, far outweighs any suspension adjustments you might have to make to get the desired 25-30 and get low enough on the pitch to brace the elements.

This is awesome! And exactly why I chose to join this forum, excellent information and input based off of personal experiences. BillyBob58, that has to be one of the most well thought out responses that I have seen yet. To all who have offered ideas I thank you, I'm still learning the whole forum quote technical side so this might be a bit loose so to say. Boomer I had read that the hang angle made a big difference so I broke out a four foot level and a protractor to judge angles - the wife was amused , you are right it has an effect, however that did not seem to eliminate my challenges. I am willing to go the Bridge route, however I think for me I'm skeptical of shoulder squeeze, maybe I'm wrong. I feel that a longer hammock may fit the bill given the experiences expressed to date, what the heck if I don't like it maybe someone else can benefit from my experiment on the "for sale" listings... Anyone have any experience with a DangerBird in the 11' range? Like that bug net/ rain cover combo!
