PJ, where in Philly do you live?

501 overnight are great, especially the food. Not so much the rain.

Well I don't live in Philly, I just said that because Philly not far and everyone knows where Philly is. I'm in the Downingtown/Westchester area.

And i'll defiantly try to make it out to a 501 overnight sometime this summer. Hopefully it's not raining though! Although I still need to test my new tarp out in the rain...

+1 on the Black Forest and West Rim Trails. The Shuttle service for the WRT was very reasonable and the BFT can be easily broken into to 24 mile long loops and hiked over two weekends if you can’t find the time to do the 40 mile loop in three days. I hiked the southern loop first in early June then returned in the fall to hike the northern loop. If you go in the middle of June just keep an eye out for rattle snakes we saw a big one (4feet six inches long and as big around as a soda can) down south on our way up to the summit of Hemlock mountain. I have used the following website for planning a lot of my Pa. hikes http://www.midatlantichikes.com/ Mike has done a great job of planning and documenting smaller loops in the Midatlantic area. Sorry I can’t be much help for what is going on locally for you. Yooz85 and I are trying to line up a section hike on the AT later this summer just let me know if you’re interested and I will send you a PM when we figure it out.
    Peace,
    Gris

i've spent much time stomping around the Windsor Furnace area. Pulpit Rock, Pocahontas Spring and Pinnacle area. Good to have your family drop you off because the parking lot is sketchy anymore.
