DIY single and double layer polyester hammock finished

    Hi there,

After I was able to fix m sewing machine / thread injector with the help of many great people on this forum, I started finally with making my hammock, and as you all know, once you start, you can't stop, so I made 2.
A single layer and a double layer hammock, both from polyester.
Why polyester ? Cause here in Czech Republic I was not able to find any place where they sell ripstop nylon.
And if I would buy it of Ebay, or diygearsupply for example, the shipping costs make it very pricy..

So here a short video on the result, showing both hammocks on my (turtlelady) bamboo stand.

    Nice job

Very nice. Personally I like polyester better than nylon. It stays the same always...no stretch.
Gentle raindrops and mighty oceans...neither can exist without the other.
Time heals all wounds...but it usually leaves a pretty big scar.

Nice job. What is the weight of the polyester you used?

(it's a huge shop where they sell lots of fabrics, but more for curtains etc)

Very glad to see the sewing machine working well.

Nice work on the Hammock, the weight are good.
Many nylons are not that light.

Looks great!! I'm discovering that I also like the polyesters better than the nylon.

    Thanks, thanks, thanks :-)

Wulfy117, best is to buy more fabric then you think you need, do a lot of research on what exactly you want, and if you think you need about 30 minutes for sewing a hammock, then count better with 60 minutes at least :-)
Further, nothing special, just make sure your sewing machine works fine :-)
Good luck, and what do you want to make, hammock as well ?
