    Tarp length for Lite Owl

I JUST got an 11' cuben w/doors from hammock gear but also JUST saw a post about a custom 12' tarp from HG. Do you guys feel 11' is enough for the 11' Lite Owl? Is the 12' worth selling mine and upgrading? I haven't used my cuben yet nor have I ever actually been in the rain in my hammock. So, I'm pretty ignorant to what's really needed.

Your tarp will fit when you take into consideration of your ridgeline. Try it and see what coverage you have. I just wanted max. coverage and had custom done as preference. I have hung with my OMW which is 11' tarp and had about 8" of coverage on each end of my Snipe Hammock which is same size as your Lite Owl. RL of Snipe was at 108".

I measured my LO to obtain it's effective length so I could add a ridgeline, and ended up with 106", or just under 9'. Your 11' tarp should be adequate, especially so, since it has doors.

the Lite Owl is 11' layed flat .. if you're RL is around 85% {about 112'' or just over 9'} .. you'll be fine .. the Tadpole is 11' RL ..

I had a 12' tarp for a while and I semi-often ran into the problem of the hammock fitting between the trees but the tarp would not. It was a common enough occurrence that I got rid of it and now have an 11' tarp. So I think you'll be happy with and have ample coverage with an 11 footer.
    Good luck,
