Ikea has white holiday led lights that runs on 2 AA batteries for 2$. Whenever my wife goes there, I always have her get me a couple sets to giveaway at hangs.

I don't like messing with the wires. I use this, ways almost nothing, battery recharges. It could be used as flash light if my head lamp died. I like multiple purposes for things i carry. But i don't hike as far as most of the guys on here, but i trying.

I did a review of my fav...YuHan USB LED RGB Rope Lights a couple of months ago. Not the best for ultralight, but really a pretty nice set... variable levels, too.
