Under Quilt/ DWR on inside and outside?

Is it ok to use DWR on the inside and outside of the under quilt?

Seems I can only find Down Proof in varied colors that are DWR and I wasn't sure if just the bottom should be DWR and I should keep looking for something different for the inside material.

    Hi Diva,

I perfer to use a Breathable inner and DWR outer on 20* and up quilts, condensation isn't as much of an issue but winter setup I use full DWR shells to help keep moisture out of the quilt. DWR on outer help with minor misting and tarp splash back. One negative to a full DWR shell is slightly longer loft time as well as tougher to stuff into stuff sack. This is due to DWR finish not allowing air to move through the fabric as well as a breathable fabric.

I usually don't use a DWR when in contact with skin just due to the feel of DWR on bare skin.... I assume we are talking about 1.1 RS fabrics here as I know the M90, M50, 8d, & 7d DWR fabrics have a softer feel...

So, basically I'm sure I just added to the confusion.... In a nutshell full DWR shell is OK as long as you understand the minor negatives...

Thank you!! Do you by any chance know where I can find black down proof that isn't DWR for my inner fabric?

My thoughts are to look for some kind of lining from a fabric suppliers. I've seen some over here listed as downproof lining for making jackets and the like.

This is just driving me nuts today and tonight!! I want to be able to order from 1 place, black down proof breathable top layer and grey dwr down proof bottom layer, and a bonus of noseum netting so I can get these UQ made!!! I can not find at a one stop shop so that I don't have to pay over $20 in shipping between places. This should not be that hard

Ok...is WR (water resistant) pretty much the same as DWR (durable water resistant)?

Can I use down proof water resistant in place of the down proof DWR?

I have found black uncoated, downproof ripstop for the inner material here http://www.rockywoods.com/Downproof-Ripstop-Nylon-Black They also have no-see-um black netting for the baffles....only problem is that I can't find DWR there, so it's not a one stop shop...unless your able to locate and I've missed it.

I'd like DWR Gray or silver downproof if you find any where, please share a link with me.

Have you considered adding a wash in water repellant?

Or even spraying it when finished?

I'm always impressed with Nikwax Tx direct but theres loads more on the market.
