finally getting out

Not really sure where to post so here goes.

Super excited about this weekend, heading out for an over nighter. Sadly I won't be hanging. I was one of the ones who got shafted with the gg tarps. I haven't got the replacement one yet so I'll be pulling out the gunnision. I really don't mind I'm just stroked to be getting out. Thinking about heading up to the 501 shelter. Time will tell, I'll report back.

If you're expecting good weather, you might not even need a tarp, or just bring a Harbor Freight tarp or cheapy tarp for the meantime.

I could do that. I do have a nice HH sil tarp but since I've changed up my hammock to a crinkle its way to small. So it just sits.

Yea, I've discovered today while playing, that I know what you mean with the smaller GG tarps

Now that I have the crinkle hammock that I made, I need at the very minimum of 9.5 feet of tarp over me if I hang the hammock correctly. And then with the width being 8 feet wide, that little diamond isn't going to do any protection on the end/sides! Loner for the Eno DN I guess, because I'm not cutting anything off my hammock

Thanks diva, which tarp did you get? I haven't returned my so called 12x12 yet. I'm going to swap out to the 16x16 and I'm hoping that will do the trick.

I have 2 of the so called 12x12 and 1 of the 16x16. I like the so called 16x16. It still isn't of the quality of the old GG tarps, but not bad non-the-less. I think I'll return one of the 12x12 tarps and keep 1 as a loaner...maybe. Just might return both since I'm making our own hammocks now which I like far better than the Eno and others we have. After getting in mine, my husband, son, mom and neighbor want me to make them all one too...I may not have any use for even 1 of those dinky tarps.
