However, I've been in a situation more than once where the only trees were far apart and my structural ridgeline truly became "structural". Only zing-it or better would hold together in that circumstance. I know people that have snapped their 1.75mm Zing-it in such conditions.

And I very much want to hear more about the last sentence. Are bits of shiny (or dull) metal involved? Or were these ridgelines fixed, and so no more than 60% as strong as the raw cord?
