    Yikes

I am sewing a test tarp with walmart clearance fabric. I have a new found appreciation for your sewing skills. Hope you make the Cuben tarp someday.

It wouldn't be so hard if it weren't for the sheer amount of fabric. Makes it a bit more interesting on the kitchen table. Thank you, I hope my plans are helping out.

    seam

Yes it is a wrestling match. I have been pinning the seam in order to get it lined up then removing it before sewing. How did you do it? Your plans are very helpful. I cut the thing out on the floor due to lack of space.

I cut it out on my son's floor. Cleanest his room has been since we moved in. I actually hate pins, I usually line things up by hand and go with it. I have started using pins more but I always seem to slid one or two under my thumbnail, did I say I hate pins.

Besides the fact that pins perforate your otherwise perfectly good silnylon! No sense in adding leaks to your tarp. I used a bunch of paper clips, and removed them as they got close to the sewing machine.

    Thanks Guys!

I have tried binder clips as well but I don't like the weight they add and they get caught on the edge of my kitchen table. I have however had great success using hair barrettes.

Have one of you experienced DIY'ers asked the folks at Sailrite if any of their basting tapes are known to work with silnylon? Whether to temporarily hold, or to be included in the seam as part of seam sealing?

http://www.sailrite.com/Seamstick-3-8-for-Canvas-60-Yds for basting and maybe as a substitute for seam-sealing.

With little experience yet, I would not know the second question to ask.
