    Highland hanger

Hello folks and thanks for all your various contributions that i have been reading through. I cant remember quite how it happened but i was looking up kit for a wee trip i'm planning up Glen Etive for the end of the month and stumbled on the the genius idea of taking a hammock instead of my trusty bomb proof tent. Since then i have been reading everything i can get my hands on about hammocks and your site has been a virtual closet full of wonders. I especially liked the thread on how to pitch a hammock without the use of trees because the highlands of Scotland are a bit bald in places, not to mention chilly! Sound like a good place to try out my 'new' (65 year old) WW2 US Jungle Hammock!
    ;-) I cant wait!

    Welcome from the PNW!

Climbers chocks & cams work well for hanging from the rocks.

Welcome from south of the border, way south in the midlands! Looking to get back up to the Cairngorns if the fuel ever gets back to a sensible price!

You will be quicker if you start saving now for a solar powered teleporter mate.

Cairngorms definitely got more trees, i don't know them so well as the west coast. Was in the lakes last year. Really nice.

Thanks, yea, i was thinking along those lines. One tree or rock wall and a pair of walking poles should do nicely. My step mum lived on Bainbridge Island for many years. Would love to visit that part of the US.
