Need help with hangin my hex

So I am pretty new at all this hammock stuff, just got my first one and I'm still learning my own little tricks to make things easier. My one big question is how do I hang my Hennessey hex tarp so that it doesn't wrinkle? Seems no matter what I try there is huge wrinkles in it. During rain these catch water and I have to push up on it to dump it. Not only that it's ugly and I like the look of a nice tight tarp. Any ideas? Thanks.

A picture would help with the diagnosis.
Is your hammock a Hennessey also and does the tarp attach to the hammock suspension or directly to the tree?

I'm guessing you are hanging it off of the hammock suspension. The best way to keep it taught is to hang it independent of the hammock with its own lines.

Yes my hammock is a hennessey and I hang it independently from the suspension around the tree. Here is a picture or two so you can see what I mean. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot, maybe should have been in weather protection.

Shouldn't the seam be on top?

Rooster's right, I think you have that baby on sideways.

    Yup

I think "Rooster" got it right. The seam SHOULD be on the top.
I also have the Hex but don't have the same "wrinkle" problem.

Yep, the seam goes the same direction as your hammock. Then fasten down the tie outs as needed until you get it as tight as you'd like it. May need to play with tie-out angles to see what works best. The pictures really help.

I'm going to be receiving my HH Hex tarp next week and I was wondering if the cords that came with it were adequate or if I should consider replacing them.

I ask because the cords that came with the stock asym tarp were pretty fragile.

    Sorry about going off topic...

Holy EFF I feel like a dummy. I just figured that's the way it was tied to the tree because of where things were placed. Thank's guys, gonna go out in the back yard after work and play around with it for a bit. I will take some pics of a hopefully nice tight tarp!

PS: Anyone have some good pics of the proper way of hanging it?
