    Future Hanger in So. Oregon

Been years since I have done any hiking. Camping in a tent and living out of coolers became a pain for our family, so I decided to go with a few friends on some day hikes.
Now we have some 3-4 day hikes planned and the more I read about hammock camping the more intrigued I became.
Bought a GTUL some Whoopie Slings and a pair of straps from HF, so far. I have already cut almost 7lbs. from my pack and really looking forward many day trips and overnighters. Lower Rogue River in May and Wilderness Lakes Area in July should be awsome.
Learned a lot from this place and really enjoy all the info and ideas and can't wait to put them to use.

    Thanks,

    Opus

Welcome from up north of you.

You might check out the "Hangouts, Campouts and Trip Planning" page and meet some forum members for a hangout down there. It's a great way to meet new people & get some ideas.

Welcome to HF from the Metro DC area

All you need is a tarp and bug net and you are ready to go. Lots of choices out there, and all of them have their advantages and disadvatages.
