I've never camped in a hammock before

    Howdy!

Up to this point I've never camped in a Hammock before. Thinking about getting one and trying it out, if not for sleeping at night at least maybe for napping =)

Hammocking is the way to go! I first slept in a hammock in October 2010. Since then I have put almost 60 nights camping out in the hammock. If I never ever have to go to ground again, I will die happy!

Welcome. There is lots to learn here, but take your time and soak it in.

It's awesome. I keep one in my car all summer. You never know when your going to have a few minutes free & a couple trees are begging to hang out with you.

This website is a good place to start, but you might get a quicker over overview from Just Jeff's www.tothewoods.net or sgt rock's website, hikinghq. Also do a quick search for shug; his videos are stellar, especially if you like moving pictures and unicycles.

Yeah, I agree with Buffalo Skipper. I've been hammocking for over a year and love it. Best sleep I ever got on an outing. Used to think I was sleeping good on a 2 1/2" self inflating bed mat, Eureka tent and all the stuff. But the first night I slept in a hammock, I knew hammocking was for me! Haven't looked back and look forward to every outing ever since.
