    Structural ridgeline configuration

I should be studying for an exam but I can't concentrate. So, here's what's on my mind. I have the goodies coming in the mail for a DIY hammock and plan on using an adjustable structural ridge line. However, I'm not sure what the better set up would be.
My first thought is to tie everything to the ends of the hammock. The second is to have the ridge line with rings on it with the hammock suspended from those.
In analyzing the two the only real difference I'm seeing is the height of the ridge line and thus bug net from me in the hammock. So, what advantages and disadvantages has anyone seen or experienced with either of these rigs?

I just ran my whoopies through the sewn channels, slipped the ends of my srl on, then larksheaded the whoopies. its solid and it works. And my bugnet is pretty high up off my face as well. Just my two cents, in the end though, its HYOH

My thought would be if you use something like a continuous loop which connected to the hammock and the ring depending on the length of the continuous loop would put the ridgeline higher which I think in turn would require more material for bug netting, the higher the ridgeline the more bug netting required. Make since? I like to attach everything to the hammock for now! Seems lighter to me.

I think it all comes down to how much sag you have. I like a LOT of sag, so my ridgeline is about arm's length away, inside the hammock. If you have very little sag, it might be nice to have the bugnet higher...

I like a roomy hammock... That said, I like my DIY WBBB Lefty clone.
