    No sew tarp tieouts?

I'm not a seamster, and I have a new GG "16x16" that I want to add ridgeline loops to. I was wondering if the trusty old Gorilla tape and grommet would work out. Has anybody tried this or can anyone recommend another no sew option besides Grip Clips?

Grommets tend to rip out, and are usually not suggested for tieouts. Maybe if you just skipped the grommet and just used a tab of tape that would work, but I have no idea

I've just posted it in another thread but you'll find it useful too! This guy (from ye olde yorkshire north UK) uses cut bottle tops to screw onto the tarp. You put a hole in the bottle lid with some cord tied in, place the lid on the outside of the tarp where you want it, and on the other side have the screw-bit meet up with it.

    It's genius!

A contact lens case cut in half works equally well! The screw top method works great. It's easy, cheap and removable.

There's a thread on here somewhere for adding tie-outs but it eludes me.

The OP tested pull outs with various test weights and used McNett seam grip for non-silicone fabrics. They took 60kg of wieghts if |I remember correctly

My diy tarp has no sew pull-outs added after reading it. I simply sewed grosgrain tabs onto circles of nylon and then stuck these to the tarp with seamgrip, using a book to hold them down as they bonded. It works a treat and doesn't weaken the tarp in any way.

You could try Dutch's Clip on tarp Pulls outs. Not sure how well they would work though.

Another option if you don't have access to a sewing machine is to take your tarp and grossgain for the pull outs to a seamstress/tailor shop and see if they would be willing to do the work for you at.

Or gives you an excuse to go visit your mother/grandmother/aunt/mother-in-law/neighborhood cat lady. Bring flowers and tasty pastries as well for a bribe.

Wink Simple solutions are often the most elegant!

With all of the top and cap suggestions here I almost feel too "structured" suggesting this one. I get mailings from Harbor Freight and today's mailer offers these tarp pulls, 15 for $14.95.

I haven't tried them, but they got a good review and appear to look like they would work well by equally spreading the tension over a wider area. They don't look as big and clunky as some, but may inhibit a tight stuff more than others. You could even cut the hook off the end to minimize them some. Depending on you specific needs, they may work for some applications.

Another option I ran across a few years back it the 3M Marine adhesive Sealant, Fast Cure 5200. Used as a No-Sew saile repair product it is purportedly stronger than the original substrate. It could make us No-Sew'rs lives simpler! See an article here: http://www.sailingtexas.com/chowtopatchasail.html

There, did I offer enough disclaimers?
    YMMV,
