    Great thinking, both of you. What holds the needle in the handle when in use? There's some resistance when you pull the thread through.

    Right: [Smacks forehead, pulls needle from case, and considers drilling hole across the upper shank, just larger in diameter than a small pin. Same hole will be drilled across the toothbrush handle,crossing the hole that holds the mounted sewing needle shank. A pit of wire or another pin gets inserted to secure the sewing needle during use]

    Soon to be a feature in hot-selling Leatherman tools.

    Friction should hold it, or drill a step. Point in holds the needle, point out for sewing...
