Been gear testing hammock (aka napping) out in backyard this week, highs 88F, lows mid 60s. Sweet!

thats rediculous. You must get alot of people spontaneously combusting down there in temps that high at night.My favorite temps to sleep in: teens to fourties.

Up in the Whites of NH, it is rarely above 50 deg. at night. At least at the elevation I go. We always take long underware, and some sort of under insulation, any time of year. Fall and spring are way way cold. It is said that it has never been above 72 on Mt. Washington, but, I have not varified that. Anyway, you can see why some of us are constantly developing underquilt ideas for hammocking. And, most of them are pretty good. Still looking for the elusive affordable down underquilt.
Up here north you really need to prepare for almost freezing every night if you sleep outdoors, although a normal night in summer is probably 50 F/10 Cish. Then again, with the wonders of imported American heat (yay Gulf Stream), I've hung in a low of 50 F/10 C on November 14th. That's decidedly unusual, though.
The highest low I've ever personally witnessed in Finland was 16 C (61 F). The highs of the days before and after that were well over 30 C/85 F. So it's not always cold here. Only usually.
Those are some temps that I can live with!

BTW, one of my cats names is Paska Housot, the other is Kissa. You should get a kick out of that. For those without a Finnish Grandmother, look it up in a Finnish dictionary.
I've got a Hennessy Deluxe Asym and use it with a CCF pad or an underquilt. I'm nowhere near a perfect insulation solution yet. Sufficient insulation is easy with pads but they get really bulky really fast when it gets cold.
I know how to use google. But I'm canadian and I don't use Fahrenheit, so I didn't want to.
jeez it's hot where you guys live, granted you do all live wayyyy closer to the equator. So it makes sense, but I just can't get around being able to go camping and be able to use a silk sleeping bag liner.
Crazy.
