Florida... the seed has been planted

I hosted a hike today out on the forest where I work. We were hiking the Paula Dockery Trail with... state senator Paula Dockery. This was the third time over her career that she has been out to hike the trail with us but this time I had some plans for our lunch time.

I brought my DIY hammock in my pack and set it up for a comfortable placed to sit and eat my lunch. I had been planning on bringing up the "hammocks in the state parks" issue while we were out on the hike so I asked her to stop by after she was done eating.

She seemed genuinely interested, asked about some of the main issues and talked about a few options for what could be done, and said that she was going to makes some calls and see what she could do to solve the problem. She also took some pictures of my hammock and some close ups of my straps around the tree. She has made a career of being a huge supporter of the outdoors AND the Florida State Parks. If anyone can do it she can.

I'll be in touch with her people and hopefully we can move this thing along...
