Thanks for chiming in DrPappy. I wear 8 1/2 shoes and have room to spare so I could only make a (probably incorrect) guess about 13s...

I pined up a sheet as a test fit - I figured out the following dimensions (I'm 6' tall, weight in at 250 lbs and wear size 13 shoes)

84" tall
60" wide (head)
52" wide (feet)

My plan is to pin up the PL when it comes in to see if I would be better off with a cut-free solution,m but I think I'd prefer to play with the thread injector to make a custom sized PLTQ.

I plan to sew the foot box up to just below the knees and add some elastic cord (bungee) at the top to cinch up on cold nights.

The PLs I see on fleabay are 82 x 62. You're fine width wise but may be a bit short in the length. Might be a good idea to make the channel that runs along the bottom a little extra wide to gain some length...

or

When you mark your PL, snug the template up against one edge then add a git of the material you cut off the other edge to the bottom...

just a couple of thoughts...have fun with it...

Oh man I actually typed fleabay in google thinking it was a site I have never heard of before....hahaha. Clever name lol.

This is an awesome project and I am thinking of making this my first diy attempt at a TQ (and would be first tq for that matter). Thanks for this great tutorial.

also, I always thought there was a head hole in these liners...no head hole huh?

Typically there are no head holes in the liners...some folks add those later. Don't have a pack size at the moment but will get one for ya later tonight..

Just checked it - iIt fits in a 8" x 12" stuff sack with a little room to spare and could be compressed a bit further easily...

Its intended to be a 'summer' quilt...say 65-70 degrees or above...

Of course next fall I'm going to find out how low I can comfortably go with it...just because...

I am curious to this too.

I really hope it can go to around 55, of course YMMV. Cause I know some nights in the summer it can get right around that mark. Me personally I am a warm sleeper, but find it hard to fall asleep without at least a sheet over me.

But I bet this and the addition of my micro fleece I would be all set for whatever summer can throw at me. I know when I experienced my first cold night in a hammock it was in the summer in the Pine Barrens and temperatures got down to 52 - 57. I did not think about the under insulation part (silly silly). I had my sweater on and shorts (I didn't bring pants). I got a bit cool at night and woke up a few times to readjust my fetal position to keep warm. Never made that mistake again! If I had an UQ and a thin blanket I am pretty sure I would have been more than perfect.
