    Claytor JH ripped

There's a small tear in the inside lining of my new Claytor JH. It's ripped slightly where you would insert a foam pad. Here's a picture, but it's not good.

The zipper slipped from the track, and the fabric at the corner ripped for about an inch. Is this a common problem, and how do I repair it? I'm useless when it comes to sewing.

I just got this JH and this was the second time I was going to sleep in it, when I heard it rip.

I couldn't really tell what happened by the picture, but if you have only used it twice I think it would likely be replaced by the manufacturer. (I would update the month/year on your camera, though. )

Properly installed zippers should not slip from the track. It does sound like it might be a manufacturing problem.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Thanks. I'll get a better picture with updated dates and send Tom an email.

I emailed Tom and he's going to exchange it for me, but it's going to cost 40 USD to return to Thailand. Does anyone have any tips on mailing a hammock overseas?

You say you just got the hammock and you are gonna have to pay to send it back to Thailand? If it's that new I would expect it to be replaced at no cost.

I also ripped mine but attributed it to a rear pocket zipper on a pair of pants in which I was sleeping. I had my wife patch it, have been more diligent as to my sleeping garb and have had no further problems. Could yours be a result of the same?
