Was it a 3 season Yeti, and what kind of temps?

When you moved the Yeti to one side, was your back still warm? If so, I'd say you clearly do not need that Yeti until it gets colder.

I have been able to do some pretty major venting with my CS Yeti just by moving it a few inches towards my head. That combined of course with venting from the top side.

3 season, it was probably around 30* at night. So chilly but not really cold. I also had a 0* bag in the hammock with me, and that may have been part of the problem.

you vent the Yeti by pulling it towards your head... I had it between my shoulders to my knees (roughly) should I pull it farther towards my head end?

Well, far enough in either direction will produce gaps that allow cooling. But, yes, seems to me the easiest is just pulling it a little bit above my shoulders causes some venting. A few inches further and there is now a considerable gap right under the middle of my back, and a little further even more. That's how mine seems to work, give it a try!

+ 1 on venting the yeti by sliding it past the head. I believe Brandon has a video on this on the warbonnet website.
