    Paracord Mayan Hammock

Does anyone have a pattern that I can follow to make something like this?http://paracordhammock.com/

I have done some searching but haven't found much. I am looking to do a woven pattern instead on having a bunch of knots to lay on.
    Thanks for all the help

I tried to understand that one but I just couldn't get it. Do you know of anything with more pictures or a better step-by-step?

Yeah, I didn't say I understood it either! Did you try this?

Seems like almost exactly the same instructions. I just don't know anything about weaving--that's my problem. I understand having the bug to DIY something yourself (believe me!) but you might find a woven hammock very inexpensively at a thrift store or garage sale. Have you ever lain in one? I think a homemade one with bigger cords and wider holes would cut into your skin pretty quickly. The only comfortable ones are made of extremely fine gauge cotton (I think).

Ah....try this. E-how "dumbs" most things down pretty good.

Let us know what you figure out!

If all else fails, try Jann's netcraft. They will have detailed instructions for net making, it must be similar.

Seeing people weave a Mayan in person isn't very helpful either. They move at the speed of light. Impressive to watch, frustrating to try to learn. This is about the only video I've seen where the woman is moving at a reasonable pace and you can see what she is doing if you watch carefully. Maybe between that video and the stuff you're reading, it will help.

It's difficult to explain, but once you get it down it's pretty easy. Monotonous as all get out, but simple. The tough part is when you go to tie the arms/loops to the end ring. Easy to do; very difficult to make look nice.
    Trust nobody!
