    Hey Vikingr,
Welcome Brother!!! Spent 6 years in Germany. Two years in the service, 4 years out on the economy with the Germans. Liked it so much, I married one! Red head Got a photo of her wearing one of the metal viking helmets with big horns (she wasn't happy). I'd post it, but I wouldn't wake up tomorrow...

I used to stealth camp in the forest near my house in Schopp. Other than that I don't know of any hangers in the immediate area. I did meet a guy online who was testing gear for "backpackgeartest.com" who was up in Koln I believe but we never got a chance to meet up. I'm sure there are at least a few like-minded hangers around.

    Good luck

    And another welcome from Holland.

The DD Underblanket is an underquilt made by Snugpack (don't know if it still is). Great to keep you toasty warm. Bulky though (synthtic). Sleeping mats and hammock can work, I personally never got on with them.

I had one DD/Snugpack uq (with BCUK logo) to try and only sold it in favour of my old down uq (JRB No Sniveler).

I skipped on using paracord for guy/ridgelines some time ago now, due to the sag you get in them (inherent 'elastic' properties of paracord).

    Happy hanging!

    Grtz Johan

    I second this.
The best advice you could get.

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you have tried and enjoyed your hammock already.

Thanks y'all for your warm welcome! I will change the tarp attachment, and try out the Therm-A-Rest and foam pad as under insulation method and will report back.

I also subscribed to shugs channel, this guy is a wealth of knowledge and shehanigans! Hilarious to watch too! There goes my day...

Yesterday we had snow here again, YIKES! So it seems I really do still need under insulation!

I spent two years in Germany while in the service .. and some of that in 'k' town. My second platoon was there. Man I miss it. Especially the beer and food! Welcome

    And +1 on SHUG'S videos

    Welcome from Ramstein!

New hanger myself. Just posted about a week ago.
Where have you found to legitimately camp around the area?
