For you hangers that have had every pillow on the planet.....

.....or at least have tried several. Which one did you settle on? What would you get if you were to buy a new one?

My few extra clothes become my pillow. A pillow is a luxury for long distances camping.

My kids and I like our AHE snoring cubs and bears. Make sure M90 is used for the outer layer!

Tried "several" (depending on how you count that) and have found that I much prefer a stuff sack with extra clothing that is attached to the SRL via a Prusik knot. Gives me something constructive to do with the extra stuff sacks and fits my hammock position needs perfectly with the right amount of clothing inside. Liked it even better than a real pillow (as in from our bed) in the backyard lab. YMMV

Love my Feathered Friends pillow! I take it wherever I travel and it works especially good in a hammock (keeps my head and neck warm and has the right amount of support and compressibility).

As has been mentioned, when backpacking I use a stuff sack with extra clothes. I attache it to the ridge line so it doesn't slide around. I can get it where I want it and not worry about it. If I get tired of it, I can push it out of the hammock and just let it hang on the outside.

If I'm lounging in the backyard, I like to use a Cocoon Ultralight Air-Core Pillow. It's only 3.7 ounces, but I'd still rather use my clothes bag when backpacking.

I have really only used two things for a pillow and the first worked fine (extra sweatshirt or some clothing) but after I bought one of those inflatable neck pillows that people use on airplanes (the one I bought has a removable fleece cover for washing) I haven't looked back.

I inflate it about 2/3 (whatever feels right) and use it like they do on planes when I sleep on my back. When I sleep on my side or am moving around and need a little extra poof in my pillow I just move it so that the horseshoe end is pointing towards the end of my hammock above my head and that makes it a bit more firm and elevated for some reason.

I have been so happy with it that I haven't had any reason to try anything else.

    Dave

P.S. I use my stuff sack with extra clothes to go under my knees for the times I feel like I need something under my knees... which is less and less as I get better at finding my sweet spot in the hammock and adjusting where my butt goes
