Two men, one mission....hang over water!!

And...yeah, mission accomplished Millerville and I sighned up for an evening paddled trip at a nearby lake (Lake Martin) put on by a local gear shop (Pack&Paddle) so I decided being we would already be on the lake until 9:00 pm why not spend the day on the water and set up our hammocks from the cypress trees in the lake and hang over the water. Millerville's response was; dude it would be crazy not too! So we set out on yet another adventure. First of all the set up standing on kayaks was not nearly as easy as we expected, and for the first 30 minutes, not as fun as we expected either. After we got our balance (confidence) it was a blast!! It took over two hours to be completely set up. You would never think pitching a tarp would be so hard until you only have a few trees to tie the guylines out to. The next thing was tying the boats to stay in a position to ne able to get in and out the hammock with a dry ending both ways:but we shortly got it all figured out. After that it was time to paddle out to where we had to meet the group for the paddle trip. That was a very nice and sort of relaxing experience. The guide was awesome and the people on the trip were great to visit with. Always a pleasure meeting new people to spread the hangging addiction with. We told the guide what we were doing that night so he included the spot we were set up at to be part of our route so that all the peeps could see, take pics, and ask questions. We got back to the hammocks about 9:00 pm after having dinner with the group. Slept like a baby....must have been my brand new beloved 20* incubator hahaha. That was the first time I ever used a uq. Woke up the next morning well rested. Had breakfast in the kayak, tore down camp and sadly paddled back to the truck. Total trip was amazing from start to finish! Thanks millerville for being my best bud throughout all my adventures I have put us through. Ohhh and one last thing I know everyone reading this is wondering throughout the whole story.......nope! sorry guys, no one got wet!! Check out all the pics on my gallery. It was way too many to include here.

How in the world did you get in?! Any pics of that! I've had rivers of water flowing under me during storms but now I believe I have a goal, maybe this weekend on Lake Santeetlah! Thanks for the challenge...I think

    Very cool.

For those not familiar with the area, if you want to try this, here's something to think about while hanging in the hammock at night:

Peeing was easy, open hammock ,lower legs to kayak, stand and go. Getting in wasn't half as hard as you might think. As long as the Kayak is tie under you its not going anywhere.

Prepair not the path for the hiker but the hiker for the path.
