    Denatured alcohol and some elbow grease seemed to get most off without any noticeable damage to the waterproof properties.

    I've found that the sap dries pretty quickly and then flakes off when the fabric is flexed. Yeah, it leaves a stain, but ya know? Performance isn't affected and eventually the stain becomes part of my gear's character, along with the patched holes provided by the varmints that have tried to get at my food.
