As long as you have a pad, your hammock tarp is fully usable for ground sleeping. And your hammock with net can also serve as a bug bivy on the ground under your tarp.

Some places might be very low on trees. And some places with trees will have a lot of black Spruce with roots in the "Permafrost", don't know how well they will support a hammock? And other places have forest so thick it will be hard to find 2 trees of right size and distance without other trees or brush in between. I remember when on a bus crossing the Yukon and Alaska seeing all this forest, but often thinking "boy, where would I hang in there without being able to cut something down?".

Do-able as in weather or do-able as in tree selection? I would bring poles and a pad for an improvised hammock bivvy for when you can't find trees at higher elevations. There are over 400,000,000 acres of forest up here, I'm sure you could find a couple trees that work for you.

Sounds like a blast... Bring a bear canister, meeting up with hungry bears (with youngin's) ain't fun.

    Eagerly awaiting a trip report...
