Hey from Mass/Maine, gonna get this RIGHT

Hey errbody, been lurking this site for a while now, joined so I could see the pictures from pretty much all the pluq threads.

Very unsuccessfully tried to hammock this past winter (also my first time hanging period). Really really sucked, I was very under prepared. Wish I had a legit full uq. Anyways, I'm going up to northern Maine for a couple months and I'm ready to give the hammock another go. If I was smart I'd learn from my lesson and buy a legit full length under quilt, but I'm going the diy rout one more time.

Made something similar to what dejoha did here which I was quite impressed with, I'll post a thread about it with pictures soon, but I pretty much copied what he did, except I used the woobie full length and attached my kifaru doobie. Can't wait to give it a shot, will probably do it when the temperatures come down a little later this week in mass.

Welcome, from Ohio. We've been PLUQ hanging for almost a year now. Lowest we've gotten with the PLUQ has been 35 with down throw pinned inside (between hammock and PL) and using a hammock sock, and of course our PLUQ was folded in half. For winter we rigged a down comforter for use (no way the PLUQ was going to work for winter). Luckily getting ready to retire the PLUQ and will be going to 3/4 length DIY down UQ. It does work, and works good to just get you out and start hanging.

You'll get there, for sure. Discovering what works (and what doesn't) is all part of the FUN!
