    Warbonnet or Hennesy?

I am new to hammocks and need advice on the two brands. I am 6' 165lbs male. I want a light weight high quality hammock.
Thanks for helping a new "hanger".

    We need more info.

Do you want a bugnet, or no?
Do you want a single-layer or double-layer hammock?
What kind of insulation do you plan to use (affects the question above)?

They both make great hammocks. My first was a HH, then I moved onto a WBBB and have not regreted the change. Either way you go, you will have a great hammock.

I personally went with the HH ultralight backpacker to start because of the price point involved at the time. I got a hex rainfly for free with my HH, and would have had to purchase a bigger fly if I bought the WBBB. With that said I am now in the process of getting a WBBB, because like many others talk about on here I find the foot box and shelf a must have. I sleep with numerous objects(i.e. knife, phone, wallet, etc...) and the small pocket on the ridgeline is not big enough, or deep enough to hold all these things. with the shelf I will be able to store that gear out of the way so I dont wake up with my knife case digging into my leg, or wake up to my phone/wallet smacking me in the head as it flips out of the pocket. The other down side I have found with the HH is that I tend to get alot of pressure against my calves at night with the tightened fabric at my feet. The footbox was WB answer to this issue from what I can see in the research I have done.

So hopefully this helps you out in your decision, and welcome to your new addiction!!!!!!!!!!!!

I originally had an HH and just switched to WB (just got the delivery confirmation email this morning 0.0!). Same reasons aforementioned...gear organizer on the ridgeline is a bit too small, the shelf with the WBBB seems way more functional. Also the calf pressure I was experiencing almost made my HH not comfortable. The footbox, from what I hear, is supposed to be he solution so I am looking forward to that!

But with that said I did really like the HH and I believe both choices are excellent choices.

Buy them both and feel the one you dont like. I started with a HH tried a couple of WB went back to a HH. I will say you can ask this question and research this forum, but the only way you will truly know is to give both of them a honest try and go with the one YOU like best. That is what I did and I am still trying other brands too, my choice of the 2 options you mentioned is the HH in the explorer size.

I agree with the sparrow but I'll say that I started with an Explorer Ultralight and now I use a Tree To Trail Light Hiker. I didn't like the permanent netting on the Hennessy and unlike the BB the netting on the LH unzips on both sides. Since I had 2QZQ mod it I can get the netting completely out of the way.

    Sorry about that:
Yes I want a bug net and a tarp
I thinkI need a double layer for warmth? IDK
IDK I will eventually be in temps right around or above freezing. Mostly in spring, summer, and fall though.
    Thanks

I'd go with the Warbonnet. Hennessy hammocks cause diarrhea.
