If you could only have a TQ or UQ which would you want to keep you warmer at night?
Say you could have either a TQ and a foam pad, or a UQ and a fleece bag liner. Which one would you bet on keeping you warmer?

Under quilt you can use lots of things for a top quilt.
Underquilt for sure. As has been said-lots of things work for a TQ, a UQ is pretty specific gear and oh so nice. YMMV.
UnderQuilt. I have several options for a top quilt

If I could only choose one, I would choose a pod, best of both worlds.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
A top quilt won't protect you against the dreaded cbs. I would pick the under any day.
under quilt everytime. you can always find something to put on top.
My vote would be for the underquilt. I have used a sheet for a TQ but I love my UQ.
Don't argue with the alligator until after you cross the river.
8 out of 8 hammockers can't be wrong! I guess UQ is first on the buy list.
