I average once a night at home and 3 trips in the hammock. After some "thank goodness no one saw that" late night and half asleep trips to seek "nirvana" (blissful emptiness) I've started taking an empty gallon ocean spray bottle with me. 15 years ago following surgery which left me flat on my back. I learned proper bottle placement to take care of business and not even roll over. Now it is a nonissue for me.

Never fails 10 minutes after getting comfortable and... "I gotta Pee!" Drives me nuts. But it would never stop me from Hangen Around!
One thing I miss about the tent is going into a ziploc baggie without leaving the warmth of my bed...dispose and burn it in the morning. I don't think I'll try this in a hammock though! But I guess only staying under the tarp is the next best thing.
Hydration is certainly an issue... when equally hydrated then frequency is about the same.... Warmth is the key IMHO... When nice and warm, like at home frequency is the same...When stretching a season on the UQ one goes more frequently...Carry more - sleep better...My 0.02.

I tend to drink more when I camp either hiking/camping or car camping. Generally speaking, I'll go about 3 -4 times while out as to where at home in bed it's usually only once if that.

+1. And it's NOT hydration related in my case because it happens even when I'm sleeping out in the back yard (ie: doing my regular work day and evening at home, then walking outside to sleep in the hammock vs. the bedroom inside).
I was going to ask about this a long time ago, but chickened out....

One of the things I really liked about the Hennessy's slit opening (before I had it sewed shut and got zippers) was that you could just lean forward and pee in a bottle. but I've noticed no real change in the number of trips... if anything, with my feet slightly higher, there's less pressure on my old bladder and I go less...
I'm working on something that involves a Gator-aid bottle and some shock cord no luck yet :-(
I pee from the side of the hammock at night. It's a risky business, but so far so good.
