Yeah, the Ridge rest is one of the most popular pads to use when first starting out, only being beat by the blue Walmart closed cell pad. The ridges tend to keep slipping to a minimum. And its pretty warm. However, eventually you'll want to upgrade to an underquilt. Check out Shug's videos on Youtube for that.

I'd actually suggest that you either use a seperate ridgeline for your tarp, or you just use cordage attached to either end of the tarp to take it directly to the trees.

Using the stock HH prussics usually ends up with a decent amount of sag in your tarp once you climb into your hammock. This can create spots where water can pool and seep into your hammock, or can start to flap (VERY ANNOYINGLY) if there's a bit of wind out.

Tarp tensioners on your tie downs will also help reduce either of these issues, and can also help if the tarp starts to sag when it gets wet.

In nice weather, don't forget you can use your paddles to help tie UP the side of the tarp in "porch mode".

Sounds good! The weather turned to crap here today, so I guess I have to wait even longer to do a real good test hang

Just found out the other day that one of my neighbours has a hennessy hammock as well! He is a truck driver and takes it with him on his trips and hangs it from his trailer!
