Which HH model has the flattest sleeping position?

Which HH model has the flattest sleeping position? Anyone have any sleeping experiences with multiple HH models?

I'm specifically interested in the positioning differences between the Safari and Explorer models, but any experience or info would be helpful.

To a certain extent that depends on your body shape. Hennessy pioneered the SRL to provide a flat lay in most conditions. How that relates to you is something only you can answer by trying different hammocks.

Likely the largest hammock would have the flatest lay, providing the most room to angle your body (so the Safari), but I find the lay in my Deep Jungle XL to be very flat and quite comfortable. It's also hard to find an underquilt for the safari.

In my experience, the very large Safari hands down. In fact, Safari compared to all non-bridge hammocks I have been able to try.

But, the DJ XL and Explorer UL are not too shabby either, not at all. Both are flat enough for me to use on back packs and find some comfy positions. I can usually find a spot with little to no calf pressure and knee hyperextension in those when on my back, and sleep on my side for sure fetal and maybe with legs straight. I'd put both of those just behind my Claytor No Net and it just behind the Safari, for me.

And when it comes to flat- which is not everything but it is something- I put all of them behind any bridge hammock I have tried. Safari can be real close, though.

I have the Safari and the DJ and I prefer the material of the DJ better. It feels so much softer than the Safari.

I agree that the DJ fabric feels great! That was my favorite thing about it!

i have the explorer and i have found that if you lay on the diagonal then you can lay on your stomach, however I find it easier to lay on my back.

anyone had a chance to try out both the DJ and the DJ XL? I plan to buy one or the other this month. I'm 5'10" and 240lb. I am assuming but have no hammock exp. that the longer the hammock the flatter the lay but if my poor back would be happy in the smaller model I'd love the weight and cost savings.
