    Post Hammock Equipment Poll

    Hey Fellow hangers,

I wanted to reach out and see if some of you wouldn't mind giving some quick input on how you decide on purchasing your hammock gear. We at KAMMOK, have some incredible products in our pipeline (that we can't wait to release), and we have some long term projects that we are working on as well. I would love to hear how you guys would prioritize the 5 items below when processing a purchase. If you could rate each item from 1-5 (1 being the highest and 5 being the lowest) that would be great!:

    *Weight
    *Durability
    *Price
    *Functionality/Versatility
*Comfort (if item adds to comfort)

    1. Price - If it is out of my price range then nothing else matters
    2. Weight - I have to carry every ounce on my back
    3. Durability - I'm willing to spend more for something that will last
    4. Functionality/Versatility - Multi-functional or items that function exceptionally well are better than items that are clunky to use or just don't preform their intended task
    5. Comfort - If I can't make it work for me then its not worth having

Not to speak for anyone else but I'll bet that a close representation of what most hiker/backpackers will answer.

Sometimes it depends on the item, though. My final answer is going to be...

    1- Functionality/Versatility
    2- Weight
3- Durability (let's think of it as life expectancy)
    4- Comfort
    5- Price

But you can't forget that "2nd kinda cool" (nutnfancy term, look it up) can sometimes trump all.

Great feedback - thanks. Yes cool factor is one of those that can't be measured but sure can effect our decision making!

As a backpacker, weight is what I voted for as number one.
However, the item has to serve its function. Also, I got into hammocking for its comfort; so no Nano 7 hammocks for the 6'-1" guy.

I voted functionality/versatility because I do not want to buy something I already have or does basically the same thing. I like the Roo and Python straps but I have hammocks that are similar and suspension that is lighter and more adjustable. I was going to put weight first but decided that I like looking for new concepts.

I'm pretty new to hammocks but my thought process is basically the same for all my gear.

    1. Weight: I'm getting older, it has to be light.

    2. Functionality/Versatility: I can justify a little extra weight for an item that actually works and can serve more than one purpose.

    3. Comfort: The biggest reason I am into hammocks.

    4. Durability: If it doesn't hold up, what good is it?

    5. Price: If an item meets all other requirements I don't mind paying a little more, especially if it's light and versatile. Buy once, cry once.
