    That one thing...

Ok... While planning our first hang, hopefully in the very near future, I have been going over the list of things to bring/ do to get ready.

That being said, I would like to ask everyone on HF...

What is "that one thing" you wish you had on your first hang, or that you just can't live without now?

besides the things necessary for survival.....bourbon

    Other things
    Comfortable pants
My down jacket when it's cold.
I like my down booties. I sleep in them and they have an eva sole, so I can get up when nature calls without putting on my boots/shoes.
coffee is a necessity, but I consider it in my items necessary for survival
    A little extra line
something to tinker with or stave off boredom if that is a concern

For me it was a hat to sleep in. I ended up pulling my quilt over my head to stay warm.

An under quilt. First night it was in the 50s and I froze my but off. Now I have 4 and already ordered my 5th one.

Now, it's my dog. It's weird for me to go out into the woods without my pup because she literally goes on hikes with me 6-7 days a week.

Aside from coffee being a must, must, must!!! Mine is moist towelettes!! I want and have to be able to wash off a bit...plus in summer it feels good after I wash my face to just lay it across my face when I'm trying to go to sleep.

BOURBON is already #1,2, and 3 on my list!!!!!! HaHa. All others are great suggestions. Where did you get the down booties? make/model? Or DIY?

An UQ is on the list of things to buy/ make. For now I'm going to pack my light sleeping bag, although I rarely get in it while camping, usually just lay on top of it..

If your with a group- a party tarp, somewhere for folks to gather under if its rainy.

Experience- Knowing how your kit sets up and how well it performs is critical to an enjoyable time.

    Have fun!!
