    Webbing End Loop

Hey guys, just a quick question. In the process of going full DIY with my suspension and bought some 1'' poly webbing (among other things) from a local hardware store. No loops in the webbing included, and I need one on at least one end of each piece of webbing. Anybody have a good video or diagram for an end-loop webbing knot?

I've got a tree strap illustration here: http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/d...ck-suspension/

I admit, 4 boxed X's is overkill, you'd be plenty safe with just three.

Thanks for the input, I ended up going with a water knot (I think) thanks to "thecyr" from Youtube. Don't know if he is on the forums, but if he is, I give a big thanks . I'm still a big newb and this is my first DIY suspension rig, pretty proud of it, if I do say so myself...

This is the video I got the knot from:

solid. Waterknot is best really good with the webbing, its what i used for loops for anchor points for top roping.

Side question: How much slack is needed in a finished water knot? Does is need to have enough for a slippery half hitch?

Seems like the long way around to form a bight (fold the end of the rope over) and tie an overhand knot........or am I missing something?

I wondered the same thing when I first watched it.

Just a little tail. It doesn't require any other Knots to be used safely.

    Takes more

Using the knot method, more webbing is required. Although minimal, this also means increased weight. Once you've tied the knot and hung in your hammock, it will be very difficult to untie... (if desired).

Obviously if you don't have a thread injector, this is a very easy and solid solution.
