Joining Evazote?

I currently use two 1/4 GG Evazote joined with gorilla tape and trimmed down to fit my shape. It has worked flawlessly for three years (16oz). But now I want to trim some weight and want to buy some 1/8 Evazote. Are there any epoxies or cements out there that are good enough to hold the foam together edge to edge in a hammock?

Unfortunately GG only makes their 39"x53" in 1/4" thickness.

If evazote=zotefoam you will find this interesting. John is a legend in the HPV community. Evazote=zotefoam seems to be correct according to a quick google search. Never used it myself. But as a recumbent rider I have drooled over John's projects. Gluing really thin pieces might be a lot trickier. Duct tape may continue to be your friend...

Edge to edge gluing probably won't be possible. How about a thin but strong tape. Something like seam sealing tape? Is there any out there that might be strong enough?

I agree. If you want to try gluing, maybe a 2 inch wide piece on the back along the length of the seam might work. IE 1 inch on each side of seam for its length. Then use duct tape or some other strong tape facing your back to reinforce the seam.

I found something on here. VHB (Very High Bonding) Tape. Used to join cuben fiber in tarps. Looks like 3M has a whole line of different tapes. Zpack actually has cuban fiber bonded to one side making it very strong and very expensive. I also found Nylon Ripstop Tape used in sail repair.

you'll need to overlap, but 3M's spray adhesive works wonders. I use it to layer evazote foam for fly tying.
