    SOLD: Long KAQ Owyhee Topquilt

Great quilt, very warm when you need it to be but not stifling. It's a nice gunmetal grey color.

Dimensions are 48" wide at head end, to 40" taper, 24" foot box. 86" long. Regular version has 5oz of Climashield, the long may have slightly more for the added length. According to the AHE site this weights 31oz. I'm 6'5" 200lbs and this fits me great, plenty of room to shift about.

I purchased it from DemostiX who described it as "Perfect, as-new condition. From smoke and pet-free house. Never in the field, kept uncompressed, never used unclothed, but freshly laundered anyway." I've since had it out for 5 nights, and have likewise stored it in smoke & pet free apartment.

$130 shipped CONUS, includes mesh stuff bag.
It is a very alert, active sheep, with a stylish, lively carriage.

    Oh, I show up...... again.

I'll add that I only launder with fragrance-free detergents. I am not orthodox, but I am thorough, so this was rinsed..... and rinsed and rinsed.

OTOH, there may be some here looking for a quilt to interest their hounds.

11" shorter than Mr. Cheviot, and using an 8' foot hammock, I replaced this LONG with a short climashield quilt that fit me and occuppied less of the hammock.

I've been looking at this exact TQ and have held off on pulling the trigger because I can't seem to get a good indication of how small it will pack down compared to a comparably sized down filled TQ. Can you give any indication of how small this packs down? Also, does this include a stuff sack?

This is the long version of the 3-season quilt, which has 5oz of climashield. I'm assuming that due to the extra length this has slightly more than 5oz to account for the added length.

It's rated "into the 30's" but that varies from person to person of course. I tend to sleep a tad on the warm side, and used this quilt last November into the mid-20's w/ a set of thin merino thermals and was very comfortable. YMMV.

I haven't done a compressed size comparison to a down TQ, but both this and my down TQ fit into my Sea to Summit large event compression sack w/ a baby orca ix and seem to take up similar amounts of room. I would guess that under max compression it may be slightly larger than a down TQ (an inch or two in the same diameter stuff sack?), but not so much that it would make a significant difference in pack-ability. That's my opinion of course.

The compression characteristics also varies slightly w/ different versions of Climashield. I'm not sure which version is in this quilt, I think Paul (pbgibson) switched to using Apex in these a few years back, but I'm not positive. Apex is pretty nice stuff.

If you'd like tomorrow I can see if it fits in the ripstop sack that came w/ my RevX quilt. I'd like to keep that though. It was sent to me in a mesh laundry sack so that will be included, but what I can do is include a trash compactor bag if you plan on storing it the bottom of your hiking backpack (which works great for most people).

Just to follow up, this quilt fits fine in the same stuff sack that my long/wide 2.5" loft 3S down qulit fits into.
