I was sitting down to eat with a couple of coworkers when I happened to look up...
Hanging above me was a leather hammock. I asked my coworkers and they said it was a "chinchorro" style hammock but that applies to any hammock that is not one solid piece of fabric for the bottom.
I've seen a bamboo hammock on TV but this was interesting and a first for me.
Why was it up there?

Just for decoration. I don't know if this one was meant to be used, but about an hour later when we were walking back to our hotel I saw another one that was meant to be used. Less interesting than this one but also of leather.

I saw another leather one in a local mall here in Colombia and they were selling it for $350 dollars! I guess they are more common here than I thought.
