Quick and close overnighter with scouts

My hang. (I hadn't yet staked out the tarp.

My ride down the canyon on the way home. It was/is a beautiful morning/day.

This was my ride to/from the campout. My Exos 46 rode wonderfully on my back and didn't feel like it threw off my center of gravity too much.

Thanks for sharing. Nice spot up on the hill between two trees! Love the canyon shot! How could you not have a good time!

In the shot of my hammock on the hill, there's a small stream behind me. I'm actually kind of standing in the stream bed.

I was cooking my dinner on an alcohol stove when the other leaders were kind of making fun of me. I heated water for my BBQ Spaghetti from Babelfish5 and some flavored instant potatoes. They quit mocking me when I made garlic cheddar biscuits on a mini griddle ($5 @ Kmart), and by the time I made blueberry biscuits the same way, they were enjoying samples. Then, when I was done, I showed them that I cooked it all on my MISO stove from MiniBullDesign. Now, they were impressed!

We laughed as they suggested I cook breakfast on it; all three dozen eggs and two packs of bacon!! I joked by saying that I better get started now (8pm the night before). Instead we used the three burner Camp Chef and cast iron griddle that made quick work of it. But, they had to borrow my GSI backpacking spatula.

One of the leaders had brought a bed roll that was much larger than everything I had brought. That didn't even include the rest of his gear. I'm realizing what a difference in thinking I have evolved to; in regards to my approach to camping. For good or bad, most of that has happened since my joining this forum just over a year ago. Don't get me wrong, I love using my Camp Chef when the occasion calls for it.

That's awesome. I always get a kick when the boys are in shock about how easily things can be done.

I always tell the boys "Why would I bring more when I don't need more". I think that it is slowly and I mean slowlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy catching on with a couple of the boys.

Must have been all scout weekend, we were out too. I'd like to ride my bike to a troop camp out, but I normally have to tow the trailer.
