    Suspension force spread sheet.

There is this great spread sheet for calculating the different forces on your suspension over on the yahoo hammock group. Aside from maybe getting permission from the guy that put it together is their any reason why it is not stickied here? Or have I just missed it on this site?

i have seen the loading dig. from white blaze. this one dig's the various hang angles and the loads created via multiplication factors. this is probably the one youre talking about ...and then there's the "hammock hang calculator" programe, created by member DEJOHA that one just basses the hang angle at 30 degrees ,the "kindest" angle. and works out the attachment points. it's available here, thru a search- sorry but i can't post links. both really good to get a hammock engeniering prespective

Here is a toy to play with...

The blue and red graph at the bottom shows visually the multiplication effects of the force when the angle gets too low. It was eye opening to me.

So why is there no calc thread stickied for either the suspension or DIY forum? I mean some of these tools make me wonder about the safety of some of the popular suspension materials at angles other than the optimal 30 degrees. Sure it is all just theory, but numbers are fun to play with and may open up ideas for other materials for the more imaginative hangers.
