DIY DOuble layer with foot box and zipped in bug net

So I had ordered a bunch of stuff from DIYgearsupply (http://www.backwoodsdaydreamer.com/). I made my step daughter a 1.1 oz hammock with stretch sides for her birthday. She loves it . I wanted to make myself a new hammock too. I have a HH expedition asym zip. It was my first hammock and I thought it was perfect until I slept in the second hammock I made (a double layer gathered end with stretch sides). My DIY hammocks are just a bit longer and seem to fit me better (I am 6'1"). I really like the double layer but that hammock was for the better half to try and get her off the ground.
I was looking into different designs and I really l iked the WBBB tribute designs. I like the idea of the shelf and the foot box. From what I read it made finding the sweet spot easier. Unfortunaty I had already ordered the material. I placed another order for some zippers and started planning. I really didn't have the material for the WBBB but I thought I would give it a try anyway. After many hours of sewing and getting a new (to me) thread injector. It was done. I still need to add a couple shock cord tie outs but it seems really comfortable.
That is number 5 in the house right now and only one was bought. I need to figure out bug nets for the others but I definately have the DIY bug.
One of the coolest things was that the martial I got from Scott matched perfectly to my silnylon tarp
    Anyway here are some pics.

Yes, you have the DIY bug. Judging from this forum there is no known cure, but the condition is managable with a continuous supply of materials and ideas. Good looking work you've got there--looks like a serious case indeed!

    Beautiful job.
As a wise man once said "If woman don't find you handsome at least they'll find you handy." Hang in there.

    That looks great! Nice work!
Out of curiosity, what was the emblem on your bishop bag?
I was also wondering, could you describe how you made the footbox? I'm thinking of trying to modify my current DIY hammock with a footbox, but I'm not sure exactly where to begin.
    Thanks!

The emblem is the MacKinnon Clan crest. My mom is a MacKinnon and I have it as a tattoo. It comes as no surprise to those who know me that I have a kilt and now have a DIY camo hiking kilt

There is tons of info on footboxes. Here are a couple of the threads that helped a lot (DYI WBBB Hammock Thoughts (Plans), DIW "WarBird" WBB style hammock)
I actually will change a few things if I make another (probably more like when ). I worked off the 9' plan from one of the threads above with some slight modifications because of the size of my fabric.
Before you start, read lots, and then some more. It may save you some aggravation. but then again if you are like me you will get an idea and then run with it and make it work somehow and then work out the bugs. This is my 4th DIY hammock. It was a lot more work than any of the others but if I had more material i could have saved myself a lot of time.
