Took the family on our first ever "family camping trip". We left on Friday as soon as my 11 year old daughter got out of school. We ended up in a campsite along side BIG troop of cub scouts . The weather was perfect but since I had everyone with me i decided to stay in the tent with them. I did take my hammock and i hung it up in the campsite. it got down into the lower 50's on friday night and i got chilly, even in the tent! Sat night was much warmer, in the 60's, which made it perfect!!
A bunch of PK burnt last year in a wild fire but the park is in really good shape now. the campsites on the far eastern side have tons of medium sized cedar trees that were perfect for creating some shade.
We had a great time and the family really enjoyed themselves. Now i just need to get them all into hammocks so i can get rid of tents all together. I forgot how much i hated putting up and taking down tents!
here's some pictures from this past weekend.
