    Building a hammock stand...

Only one problem... I don't have any trees HOWEVER, I do have a swingset that is plenty strong to support me. I can use one of the eye hooks that holds one side of a chain swing... The only thing I can think of is to insert a metal pole 14-16 feet away (from the swingset) in my backyard and set it with cement for my "tree".

Any other suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated!

Do a search on the Turtle Lady Bamboo stand, you can take it with you whereevr you want to go...
.... the Aardvark (earth pig)... a rather unremarkable creature whose sole claim to fame is that it is the first animal listed in the dictionary.

Pssst! Turtle Lady's Bamboo Stands do not have to be made of bamboo.

I love my turtlelady (olddog version) stand. It is versatile & travels easily. I'll be using it tonight as matter of fact.
Another possibility would be to modify the swingset. You could cut toprail in half & insert an extension in middle to make it long enough to hang from it alone. Seems like there was someone on here did that awhile back. Or maybe a new toprail if worried about strength.

Thats what I'm doing! Totally makes sense. And I won't have to lengthen the top rail bc it is already roughly 11 feet long;-)
