Someone mentioned to me there is a "tape" that you sew into your tarp seam to seal it. Anyone have any info on this. Did a search but didn't come up with anything, may be bad search critera......

All my morning aches and pains went away when I discovered hammock camping!
Can't say I know of any seam tape applied by consumers. For silnylon tarps I recommend Permatex flowable silicone. It really gets into the seams and thread holes. McNett silnet is good as well.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
+1 on permatex!
I was looking for something similar, I have used the flow able silicone and found it to waterproof the seam, but it dosnt last a long time before you need to start patching it up again, its not as durable as i had hoped. I had a look at the DD tarp, and they seem to have a micro-fibre tape they seal there seams with, I'm curious to find out what it's made of and how I can get some. It's very thin and almost invisible to see. it certainly looks to be very durable and will take many a beating in and out of a stuff sack. I also had a look on YouTube and there is a machine that seals seams but it's a professional model that heats and applies the plastic looking tape, and its too expensive unless you are going into production. There has to be a DIY version for amateurs. If anyone has an idea or knows of a product that will act as a waterproof seam sealer tape ... I would love to hear from them.
The only other idea is a cuben tarp with VHB tape and no stitching ... VHB tape I have been told will not work on silnylon tho.
I'm all ears.

Quest Outfitters sells seam sealing tape. Click HERE. It doesn't stick to silnylon however

Surely, God could have made a better way to sleep.
Surely, God never did.
Gaah ! ... Perhaps I need to make really neat seams and treat with nikwax or similar
