I don't know another supplier, but do they have 8D in stock? It's nearly as light.

Isn't there a post floating around somewhere stating that 8D doesn't hold down as well as 7D, for whatever reason?

    8D down proofness...

    Hi guys,

My personal experience is that the GRAY 8d material (now known to actually be 10d) that TiGoat has in stock does NOT make great quilt material. It is nice and breathable, so I was hoping to be able to use it as inner shell material, but, it does start leaking down ever so slightly with use. I was pretty bummed because I LOVE the color, weight, and price point.

They are expecting another shipment of black 10d within the week. This stuff is supposed to have a better finish to it which will make it down proof. The price point was not released but it should be pretty competitive.

On a side note....I bought the rest of that 7D for my personal projects/prototype stuff....it is ok to be mad at me. That 7D was my favorite material. I do not have any word on whether they are planning to restock it or not.

I've made a top quilt using tiGoat's 7D and it is a heavenly fabrics for that application but insanely expensive. I've had no downproof issues at all.

For my under quilts, I use Thru-hiker's M50 for its better wind and water resistance.
