I'm glad you got it worked out. I'm 5'11 with a broad frame and my DIY is 12' x 8' with no seams and pure awesomeness . I can't imagine going back to a stock hammock at this point. Makes all the difference in the world doesn't it? Good job!!! Might as well make your other as your camp hammock so you don't have to mess with taking down your main sleep hammock.

I made a 12' with WBBB/knotty channel gathered ends and it made all the difference. It's flatter lengthwise, to where I can sleep on my stomach. But most importantly, it's easy to find a position with no shoulder squeeze.

Brian - I switched a week ago and then my other shoulder started hurting I'm glad about the upgrade, however, that two extra feet make my hammock look HUGE! I have another 4 yards of ripstop, I think I'll try an 11' and sell/gift whichever two I'm less keen on.
I would be very interested in your comparison of the 11 vs 12 footer.
If you do make an 11 footer please let us know your findings.

I'm really glad to hear a longer hammock fixed your shoulder pain issue.

    hello!

I would also like to know the difference between 11and 12. I have a fit 11 and its seems to always want to roll my upper body the opposite way off my feet. I can't seem to figure it out.

My 11' by 60" t-bird reall helped with my shoulder pain. Wow, what a difference a foot can make!
    Directionally challenged...comicly so.

Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.
