    fleece

I've often read that a fleece sleeping bag liner can get you another 10 degrees or so added to the rating of your sleeping bag. IMHO it's not enough for staying warm on most nights, just used on it's own. If you have a sleeping bag you can fit in your panniers, you might want to bring it.

Ha ha my budget is so low I went over budget just using the word budget.

If you saw my sleeping bag you would never suggest trying to pack the thing. Its huge. Im no longer to conserned about staying warm. I am confident I will be fine. Ona side note I made a neck gaiter the other day. That thing is awesome. Planning on making a double layered one in the morning.

Find a way to add a nylon outer, Pete. It's huge.

I made a TQ who's inner was thin fleece, outer 1.1 ripstop, and a layer of 1/4" batting and Insul-Brite. It's really warm, but not very compressible.

I'd skip the 2 layers of fleece, and go nylon and fleece... blocks the wind better, rolls up smaller.

A layer of Insultex would really warm it up!

Definitely for warmer weather, but I picked up a very lightweight fleece blanket with a nylon lining on the outside to keep the breeze from robbing all the warmth (soft fleece on the inside) 80" x 48" (iirc) from Target for less than 10 bucks in the travel section (near the travel pillows, eye masks, etc.). Perfect for warm summer nights to take off the chill. Very compact, too.

Added a layer of nylon taffeta. I think this is going to be real warm. At 3 lbs it is half the weight and less than 1/4 the size of my sleeping bag im not a hiker so the weight and size are not as critical. Some day i will have down but for now i think fleece will wotk just fine.

One of our hammock/quilt manufacturers was making custom fleece with nylon outer shell top quilts, anyone remember who it was? Thanks
